Pendant PF14-TB with real Blue Topaz - Jewellery in Rhodium-plated silver

Seven faceted blue topazes come together in a pendant with a distinctly vintage character. The blue of the topaz carries a cool, saturated tone here, and each facet catches the light at a different angle, breaking it into fine glimmers. The delicate, openwork setting in a retro style pairs an old-world form with the lightness that contemporary jewellery worn close to the neck tends to favour.

Each of the seven stones was examined individually before it went into this composition - what mattered was purity of colour and an even shade of blue across the whole set. Good topazes rise in price along with silver, so a set like this at a reasonable price is becoming rarer. Such a high standard of cut and colour consistency at this price point is a rarity easy to appreciate on closer look. They are set in rhodium silver - the rhodium coating is hard and scratch-resistant, so the shine does not fade after a few wears and the surface stays clean and bright for a long time. Underneath is refined European silver 925, an alloy free of nickel and other harmful additives, which does not irritate the skin on direct contact. The French maker's mark on the metal confirms its origin.

In summer this pendant sits well against the neckline of a linen dress in a light ecru or white shade - the blue of the topaz stands out clearly against the natural fabric. It also works well with a simple cotton blouse with a deeper neckline, where the line of the neck stays clean and exposed. The vintage form does not overwhelm the outfit, and the seven blue topazes draw the eye without the need for any other jewellery at the neck.
