Jewellery with natural stones - what colours does it have?
Jewellery with natural stones is one of the most beautiful and noble forms of decorating yourself. Natural stones, also called gems, are extracted from the earth and cut into various shapes, and then inserted into rings, necklaces, bracelets and other jewellery. These stones delight not only with their beautiful form, but also with the richness of colours. Among jewellery with natural stones, we can find stones of different colours, which depend on the type of mineral from which they come.
Jewellery stones are divided into two groups: precious and natural. The precious group includes: diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds. These are stones that have been considered the most beautiful and valuable for centuries.
Semi-precious stones include: amethyst, citrine, garnet, rose quartz and turquoise. These stones are less valuable than the precious ones, but still very beautiful and valued in jewellery.
The most popular colours of natural stones:
-
Diamonds: Diamonds come in a variety of colours, but most commonly they are colourless or slightly yellow. However, diamonds also come in pink, blue, red or green.
-
Rubies: Rubies are most commonly red, but also come in pink and purple colours.
-
Sapphires: Sapphires come in a variety of colours, but the most common is blue. There are also pink, yellow, green and orange sapphires.
-
Emeralds: Emeralds are green, but come in a variety of shades, from light emerald green to dark green.
-
Amethyst: Amethysts are purple but also come in pink, green and yellow.
-
Citrine: Lemons are yellow, but also come in brown and gold.
-
Pomegranate: Pomegranates come in a variety of shades, from red to orange and green.
-
Rose Quartz: Rose quartz is pink, but also comes in white and grey.
-
Turquoise: Turquoise is blue, but also comes in green and brown colours.
Natural stones are very diverse in appearance and properties. Each stone has unique properties and powers, as well as an individual character. They are often used in meditation, for healing the body and spirit, as well as as an ornament and a talisman.
Other popular natural stones that are often used in jewellery include:
-
Opal: opal is a stone with a beautiful play of light and colour. It comes in a variety of colours, from light white to dark black.
-
Topaz: Topaz comes in a variety of colours, but the most common colours are blue, white and yellow.
-
Pearl: pearls are somewhat of an exception among stones, as they are of organic origin. They are products of organisms living in the water, such as mussels or oysters. Pearls come in a variety of colours from white to black.
-
Onyx: Onyx is black, but also comes in brown and white.
-
Chrysoprase: Chrysoprase is green, but it also comes in yellow.
-
Achate: Achate comes in a variety of colours and patterns, from brown to white.
Each natural stone has its own history and legend related to its origin and properties. Natural stones have already been used by people in prehistoric times, as an ornament and a talisman, but also as a medicine and a tool. Today, jewellery with natural stones is very popular and often chosen by people who value beauty, uniqueness and originality.
